I have a reminder on my phone to play the bass line for a sweet soca calypso song. I have now been using this app almost daily for literally *years* and despite having trialled or bought pretty much every comparable app, there is nothing to compare even without the simply miraculous ReFrame feature. and for transcription, it offers a unique and powerful new tool. I've been listening to favourite tracks through ReFrame just to pick out elements of the mix I have never clearly heard before. It has a similar function to the 'voice removal' trick in karaoke machines, but vastly more sophisticated: you can eliminate, or highlight any part that is clearly placed in a specific part of the left/right stereo image, and can narrow that to a specific frequency band (so if two instruments are in the same position of the left/right stereo mix, you can still zero in on one, so long as their pitch/tonality differ).
